Position Available: Youth Program Administrator
The Newport String Project invites applications for the newly created part-time position of Youth Program Administrator. The Youth Program Administrator will be a supportive and proactive assistant to our artistic and programmatic leadership, the Newport String Quartet. The successful applicant will have strong communications skills and flexibility to help keep NSP’s students’ families engaged and informed. The job also includes providing operational support for our events and data maintenance. The Newport String Project was founded in 2012 with the vision of a professional string quartet in a long-term residency in a community. It draws inspiration from the work of Community MusicWorks and Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music.
What’s important to us: Commitment to our mission, relationship-building orientation, interpersonal skills and comfort working in a highly collaborative environment; self-motivated; and ease with technology. Are you proficient in databases, feel comfortable in a small non-profit or community-based organization, or have prior experience with arts education? Even better. Bottom line: you are passionate about helping us grow as an organization by improving and managing systems that will make our youth programs well-managed and welcoming. A feature of this position is a flexible schedule that ebbs and flows in accordance with program activities, based generally on the academic year. The position requires a variable number of weekly hours between September and June, provides added flexibility over the summer, and, while some aspects of the work can be done remotely, it necessitates occasional weekend and evening hours at concerts and events, and the time required to connect with and know the Newport String Project students and their families.
This position will be filled as soon as a qualified candidate is identified. Starting salary for around 15 hours a week is $20 an hour.
