During the pandemic, Newport String Project remains committed to pursuing its goal of building a community that “crosses boundaries of generation, heritage, and economic circumstances through access to inspiring musical experiences for all.”
Just as we did this spring when we visited our young students’ homes to make music together, we would like to provide live music in a safe and individualized setting to members of our community. We have all missed the joy of sharing a musical conversation.
Instead of asking you to come to one of our regular concert venues, one of our professional resident musicians will visit your home and share approximately thirty minutes of music and conversation on your porch, on your driveway, or in your backyard. You can also consider gifting this experience to a friend, neighbor or family member who may be confined to their home during this time.
As an organization built around learning and sharing music, we are simply seeking to do what we can for the benefit of our community during this time of social isolation. Read Jacob’s blog post about our musical garden tour HERE.
