Chamber Music at the Redwood Library

The Newport String Project is delighted to return to the Redwood Library on Sunday December 17th at 3pm to present a vibrant dynamic program of works by Bacewicz, Prokofiev and Mozart.
Now in its fifth season, the project exists to make inspiring musical experiences accessible for all in Newport. The project’s first quartet-in-residence (EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks, Ealain McMullin, violins; Ashley Frith, viola; Jaime Feldman, cello) will perform Prokofiev’s String Quartet No 2 in F Major, based on Russian folk melodies. The quartet will be joined by guest violist, Jesse Holstein, for one of Mozart’s final chamber works, the sublime String Quintet in D Major, K 593. Project directors EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks and Ealain McMullin will also perform the rarely heard Suite for Two Violins, by 20th century Polish composer Grazyna Bacewicz. Don’t miss this afternoon of atmospheric chamber music in the beautiful surrounds of the Harrison Room at the Redwood Library!

This event is presented in partnership with the Redwood Library. Admission is by donation and all proceeds will support the work of the Newport String Project. Suggested Donation $10, $25 and $50+
