Children's Storytime - A Symphony of Whales

This story transports listeners to the frozen world of the Arctic Circle where they’ll meet a young girl named Glashka with a special ability: She can hear the ancient song of the whale that no one else can detect. When peril strikes the waters of the Chukchi Peninsula, Glashka uses the gift of her imagination to help save the whales.

Presented by the Newport String Project, this tale is based on a riveting true story that combines music with storytelling and invites audience members to participate, adding their voices to the symphony of whale songs.

Suitable for ages 4-12. This free program will take place at the Newport Public Library on November 12 at 11 am.
